Auckland & Waiheke Island

Auckland & Waiheke Island

There’s more to Auckland than you might think – the region offers access to world-class luxury accommodation, award winning wineries, vibrant culture and unique experiences making it a hot spot for kiwis.

The City of Sails sprawls over volcanic hills and around twin harbours, offering an exhilarating mix of natural wonders and urban adventures. It is the largest Polynesian city in the world, and with over 180 different ethnic groups, Auckland has blossomed into a multi-cultural hub of culture and art. All of which adds up to one big, bustling, cosmopolitan and vibrant city.

A 40-minute ferry ride from central Auckland, Waiheke Island is a picturesque blend of farmland, forest, beaches and an abundance of award-winning wineries and olive groves that have become an essential for visitors to the island. Waiheke is also home to one of New Zealand’s most important artistic centres – local and international artists have chosen the Island as the base for their studios where visitors can see a mix of sculptures, ceramics and paintings.

Private Essence of Waiheke Wine Tour

Waiheke Island is renowned all over the globe for its natural beauty, unique community and fabulous wine and food, and now is the perfect time to explore what’s on your doorstep.

Proudly New Zealand owned and operated, Ananda Tours is a family run business established from humble beginnings in 1999. Over the years they have evolved into a specialist operator offering small, personalised tours showcasing Waiheke Island’s wine, art and everything in between.

On this private tour, you will visit three of Waiheke’s top vineyards and sample a range of their wines. Along the way enjoy a commentated scenic drive, learning about the Island’s history, geography, people and culture from your knowledgeable local guide.

After your wine tasting experience, sit back, relax and enjoy lunch at one of Waiheke’s world class vineyards, or choose a more casual affair at a beachfront café. The cost of lunch is at your own expense, but we will make sure you have a reservation at your preferred venue. After lunch your guide will return you to the ferry or Island accommodation. If you would prefer to swap a vineyard for an olive oil mill or craft brewery tasting just let us know – we are happy to tailor the tour to suit you!

Children 0 – 15 years are welcome to join the tour free of charge (up to three children per two paying adults).
