We know terms and conditions can be confusing sometimes, if something doesn’t make sense or you have any questions – don’t hesitate to contact us.

Best Price Guarantee

If you should find the same package (equivalent offering) published elsewhere at a lower price than offered by LocalLux we will match that price as well as offering a credit of NZ$100 towards a future booking with LocalLux. To qualify for the price guarantee the equivalent offering must:


  • Be for the same accommodation, have all matching inclusions including taxes and additional fees and be in the same payment form
  • Be for the same room type, same length of stay, same number of people and same dates
  • Be published online and available to the public
  • Evidence for this guarantee to take effect must be presented as a photo or screenshot detailing everything above, where this package is available and the date it was available
Pricing Information

All prices quoted are in New Zealand Dollars and are inclusive of GST.


Individual package prices are subject to confirmation at the time of enquiry depending on availability, departure dates, added inclusions and any property related surcharges pertaining to your enquiry.

Booking Conditions

A booking will be considered confirmed on receipt of payment as per the invoice issued by LocalLux which will include amounts and due dates for deposits (if applicable) and final payments.


Deposit and payment terms may vary between packages depending on terms with our suppliers. Payment of the invoice will assume acknowledgement of, and agreement with, terms and conditions relation specifically to the package booking as outlined below.

Payment Information

Payment can be made by direct bank transfer, Visa, MasterCard or American Express. LocalLux reserve the right to charge a surcharge for the use of credit cards and will advise prior to confirmation if this is applicable.


Failure to make payment on, or before the due date as indicated on the invoice will result in an automatic cancellation of your booking and the forfeiture of any non-refundable deposits paid by that date.

Changes to Itinerary

Any amendments and cancellations must be advised in writing (email) as soon as possible. We will make every effort to accommodate requested amendments to your travel plans, but we reserve the right to recover any additional costs and charges arising through these changes.


If LocalLux must make changes to the itinerary, such changes will be advised to you as soon as possible. Changes to the itinerary will only be made at the direction of any operator of any service due to weather, operational or any other unforeseeable circumstances beyond the control of LocalLux and the operator. Where such changes are substantial in nature (as determined by LocalLux) you will have the choice of:


  • Accepting the changes.
  • Purchasing an alternative package (subject to availability of such alternative package).


Cancelling the package and receiving a full or partial refund depending on whether the changes are made before or during the trip.

Additional Services

If whilst travelling you instruct LocalLux to confirm services in addition to those that have been pre-paid, including services provided via a third party, you agree to pay for all these services, in full, at the price quoted and invoiced by LocalLux.


Prior to confirming additional services LocalLux will ask you to provide a credit card to which these additional services can be charged. A credit card surcharge applies to all credit card transactions.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation terms for your unique package will be detailed on your invoice and are strictly adhered to.


Any complaints must be directed by the client to the operator, preferably in writing, and should also be notified to LocalLux.

Insurance and Safety

LocalLux strongly recommends that the client take out travel, health and cancellation insurance.

All operators have absolute discretion with regard to decisions that may in any way compromise the safety of the client.

LocalLux as Booking Agent

LocalLux is a booking agent only and will not be liable for any injury, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of any defect in any vehicle, vessel or equipment or by acts of God or through the negligent acts of the operator.



LocalLux will not be liable for:


  • Personal injuries or losses suffered by the client.
  • Any action or activity undertaken by the client independently of LocalLux during the tour.
  • Associated expenses incurred as a result of the client’s booking.
  • LocalLux reserves the right to change any of the facilities, services or prices described in the itinerary or pre-departure information provided.
  • No refund will be made for any unused services that have not been cancelled prior to the specified cancellation terms – subject to cancellation policies of each package


Terms and Conditions of Trade

These Terms and Conditions of Trade and the contract entered into between LocalLux and the client:

  • Are subject to New Zealand law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand Courts.
  • May be varied at the sole discretion of LocalLux.
Your Privacy

We understand that privacy and discretion is important to our clients, and because of this we operate the following policy:


We guarantee that any personal information with regard to enquiries, made directly to LocalLux, will not be disclosed to any third party, without your prior consent. Information and contact details given to us will be held by us, for our internal use only.  Unless specifically requested otherwise, we may use contact details kept by us to update you of travel opportunities within the country of travel.


Should a holiday or specific activities be booked through LocalLux, it will be necessary to pass on certain details to various operators within the industry responsible for ensuring your enjoyment and safety. In selecting operators within New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific, the LocalLux has placed great emphasis on selecting those with similar working practices as ourselves. However, we cannot accept responsibility for the actions of independent operators.

Package Savings

Savings stated in our packages are based on a combination of savings made against accommodation retail rates and include complimentary LocalLux value adds. Note that some properties/suppliers may at sometimes of the year and at their discretion charge rates that different to their Rack/Retail rates.
